Winter Warmers Crafts Workshops: Crafts that foster creativity and connection. Come and learn from master craftspeople on 26th July 2025. Our winter 2025 workshops are:

  • Linocut Printmaking
    • Learn how to carve and print your own linocut with printmaker Lisa Feyen from Ink Moth Print Studio. Suitable for beginners and mixed abilities. You will work on lino blocks to produce a small edition of fine art prints on paper, printed with a press. Fun guaranteed! (Cost for materials will be $20) – Saturday 26th July 2025
  • Stone Carving
    • Master carver Marcus Helmore will guide you through the art of stone carving to create a simple bird sculpture from beautiful Oamaru stone, for you to take home. Marcus has been a Stonecarver for over 30 years and has had many exhibits of his fine work during this time. Students may want to bring protective eyewear and gloves. (Cost for materials will be $50) – Saturday 26th July 2025
  • Flax Weaving : Mahi Raranga
    • Te Kaahurangi Maioha will introduce you to tikanga/protocols of mahi raranga/flax weaving. You will create a woven taonga kete. (No extra cost for materials) – Saturday 26th July 2025
  • Wool Felting
    • Create your own wool figurines for the seasonal table or for puppet shows! Sabine Laakman will show you how to bring wool fleece to life using needle and foam. A fun and rewarding class for beginners and advanced alike. (Cost for materials will be $20) – Saturday 26th July 2025
  • Dried Flower Wall Hanger
    • Tutored by Jo-anne Doig who owns Arcadia flower farm and is trained in horticulture, craft and floral design, you will learn how to create a dried flower wall hanger, decorating it with a range of dried flowers and foliage. (Cost for materials will be $30) – Saturday 26th July 2025
  • Macramé Hanging Plant Holder
    • Join Tania and Sharon to create a beautiful macramé hanging plant holder out of 100% cotton macramé cord, and receive a pot all ready for your plant at home! Macramé is a therapeutic activity that gives you the chance to be creative. You will learn a few different macramé knots techniques for you to do some further creations at home. (Cost for materials will be $30) – Saturday 26th July 2025

Cost: $120 includes morning tea and tuition. Materials costs are extra dependent on the workshop, and are payable directly to your tutor on the day.

Please note these workshops require min. numbers to run.

For any cancellations on participants part, workshop fees are refundable less a $50 administration fee.
