Learn how to bring wool fleece to life using needle and foam (19th June).
Te Kaahurangi Maioha will introduce you to mahi raranga/flax weaving through its tikanga/protocols pertaining to its application. You will complete a woven taonga – a kete or creative art piece (12th and 19th June).
Mixed Media Printing
Introduction to Gelli Plate printing – you will learn the basic technique, application and mixing of paint and colours, effects using masks/ tools.
(12th June) You will use the prints you created for beautiful mobile parts
(19th June) You will use the prints you created to make small books- as gifts, as little sketchbooks, for print collections, to write in verses.
Casual Calligraphy Taster (12 June) Rebecca will introduce three fun and varying Calligraphy styles, using a selection of tools, choose your favourite/s and have a go.
Introduction to Modern Calligraphy (19 June) If flourishes, swirls and pretty script are your jam, then this is the Intro class for you. Using ink and nibs, Rebecca will teach you the basics of Modern Calligraphy, giving you the tools to try creating your own style. No experience necessary. Feel free to bring a short verse, lyric or word in mind to create an original piece.
